SNAKECHARMER is one of the bands playing blues-based music featured in the BLUESKRIEG compilation CD project. If the name rings a bell, it’s coz they are very active in the live music scene spreading the gospel of the blues.

SNAKECHARMER plays a modern sounding kind of blues rock music along the lines of The Black Crowes. Snakecharmer is composed of Jason on vocals and harmonica, Mitch on bass guitar, Zann on rhythm and lead guitar, Ruben on rhythm and slide guitar, Mon on drums and Roneil on keyboards.

The recording of the songs for BLUESKRIEG went quite smoothly – the biggest challenge was scheduling as the guys have day jobs and gigs to deal with. All in all, they laid three spine tingling and booty shaking blues based tracks. Zann employed an old “Royal” guitar amp for most of the guitar tones. We recorded them live – no click – and they were able to pull it off coz they are a great live band anyway. The rhythm for the songs is very solid. I actually like the sound with just the raw takes – I can’t wait to hear what the mixdown will sound like.

The Snakecharmer are a bunch of guys who love blues music, know blues music, and CAN PLAY their band of blues music. Recording them was quite a breeze eventhough we were doing a lot of things (mostly trying out the sounds and capturing the right vibe) – our top-of-the-line microphones and analog preamps were put to good use.

Watchout for the Snakecharmer on the BLUESKRIEG CD when it hits record stores this Novemember 2006, CD album is filled with music your mom, dad and granparents will like.
