Snare and Drum Mics Miking Joey Jordison
Kick and Snare drums with Overheads. The following audio samples demonstrate the myriad of sounds that can be achieved by combining the direct sounds of the kick and snare with that of the overhead mics. For even more listening pleasure, we’ve extended the mixing and matching so you can have a firm idea on the sonic possibilities for your drum kit recordings here at Sound Weavers. These samples are still from the same performance as the direct mic’d drums.

Conclusion. We wish we could conclude but we’ve only just begun. We have a lot of drum recording samples to process and finalize the presentation thereof. In the next installments we will focus on the our snare drums such as GMS and Taken and how they blend with the kick and overhead mics. There will also be segments on room sounds and then drum sound processing. Lots to do!
Whew! There you have it, part 1 of our drum mics and drum miking presentation. We hope that you find the presentation useful to your drum recording needs. Feel free to post comments, questions, suggestions or reactions to this presentation right here on this page.
We hope that you will consider Sound Weavers for your drum recording needs. As we have demonstrated above, we can achieve a wide pallete of drum sounds due to our experience and high quality drum recording equipment.
