How to Sing to Mic in the Recording Studio. Video Podcast #2
Welcome to the 2nd episode of our video podcast here at Sound Weavers. This episode is titled “How to Use or Sing to the Mic in the Recording Studio” and features a guest singer/vocalist D-Ann Griarte who will demonstrate her singing talent and microphone technique/skills.
One of the biggest psychological challenges (if not fears) of non-professionals coming to our recording studio for the first time is how to sing to the professional microphone. With this video podcast, we will try to provide information on BASIC techniques to put the recording newbie at ease and relaxed, ready for their voice recording session. The most important factor is that the singer is relaxed, knows her lyrics and dynamics (soft and loud) parts then sing as usual.
Our featured guest singer is D-Ann Griarte, a non-professional and untrained singer who nonetheless possess a beautiful sounding voice and more important, she knows how to control and use her voice. We have recorded some songs with D-Ann to test her versatility and we will share those song recordings here on the website – definitely something to watch out for.
So to non-professional and untrained singers or those just singing for a hobby, don’t be afraid to sing in a real professional recording studio. Our audio engineers and technicians will accommodate and guide you through in your session to make the most out of it. The most important things for you to keep in mind are:
- Practice your song.
- Know the lyrics (bring printed lyrics to the session).
- Get some rest before your session date.
See you soon at Sound Weavers recording studio!
